"ASA SMITH" or the "COE SMITH" Private Cemetery
    Wantage Township., New Jersey - located near Intersection of Rt. 651 & Black Dirt Road near Rockport

NOTE:  Asa Smith sold this farm to Wilbur Margarum.  In 1968 this cemetery was cleared by David. B. Simmons of Wantage Township and the stones were copied by his sister Martha S. White (of Sussex) on October 31st, 1968.

Oldest stone 1806,
 newest stone 1846.

1.    In memory of John Case who died 11 January 1844 age 66 yrs.(b. 9 April 1783, son of Joseph Case & Esther Budd)

2.    Mary Mead, his wife (stone broken) died 27 Sept. 1847, age 58 yrs.

3.    In memory of Hannah M., dau. of John & Mary Case, who d. 20 Sept.1817, age  35 y 7m 13d

4.    James Doyle departed this life _____ April 1817, age 71 yrs.

5.    Susanna Drake d. 7 Feb. 1874 age 37 yrs.  (She was a Wintermute)

6.    In memory of Jacobus Glann who d. 28 July 1825, age 72 yrs.   (Revolutionary War soldier)

7.    Levi Hane d. 20 Dec 182(2, 3 or 8) age 22y 5m 2d (Red stone)

8.    Infant son of Benjamin & Fanny Mier d. 2 Oct. 1844 age 13d

9.    Laaw Miers d. 18 Sept. 1806 age 4y 11m 6d

10.  Sally Ann, wife of John M. Monell, only daughter of William & Martha Mier   d. 26 Feb 1846 age 77y 1m 17d

11.  In memory of Daniel Myer who d. _____ March 1835 age 77y 23d  (This stone was in three pieces)

12.  In memory of Catherine, wife of Daniel Myer (date gone)

13.  Died May 14th, 1836, Sally, wife of Nathaniel Myer, age 41y 1m 12d
(On the same stone) Sally, their daughter d. 25 June 18_____ age  1y 20d

14.  Martha, wife of Jonathan Racket, d. 22 Oct. 1845

16.  In memory of Phebe Wintermute who died _____ Jan 1814

17.  In memory of Phillip Wintermute who died 15 Jan. 1814, age 51y

18.  Rosetta, wife of Absolum Wood and daughter of Moses & Amanda Myer,  d. 3 June 1846 age 19y 2m 24d.

19.  "1814 Elit"

20.  "1825 J. I. June"

       And about 40 or 50 graves marked with fieldstones.
