Helen Agnes Hudak was a Switchboard Operator- Johnson City School District.4 Kinney, Helen A., formerly of Johnson City: Helen A. Kinney, 84, was welcomed into the Lord's loving arms on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Boyd C. Kinney; parents, Martin and Helen Hudak; sister, Dolores Mastronardi; and grandsons, Andrew and Jacob Avery. Helen is survived by a son, Thomas (Kimberly) Kinney, Valrico, FL; three daughters, Elizabeth (Mark) Swenson, Liverpool, NY, Linda (Randy) Woolard, Tampa, FL, and Louise (Scott) Avery, Binghamton, NY; grandchildren, Ashley and Austin Kinney, Valerie, Ian and Julie Swenson, and Amanda, Olivia and Mary Elizabeth Avery. Helen is also survived by her sister, Sr. M. Ferdinand Hudak, O.S.F.; brothers, Martin Hudak and James Rogers; sisters-in-law, Maxine Fox, Jean Davis and Felicia Kinney; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Helen was a member of St. Ann's Church, now the Church of the Holy Trinity. She was a former employee of Ansco/GAF and was a retired switchboard operator from the Johnson City School District. Helen will always be remembered in our hearts for her wonderful smile and gentle nature. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Yankees, and loved to watch her soaps and "Dancing with the Stars." Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. The family would like to thank the staff of the Jolenta Convent, Syracuse, for their loving care of Helen these past four years. Even though she was not one of your "Sisters", you treated her as family. We will always remember your kindness and compassion towards our mother. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at the Bednarsky Funeral Home, Inc., 96 Glenwood Ave., Binghamton, and at 11:30 AM at the Church of the Holy Trinity, 346 Prospect St., where a Funeral Mass will be offered. Burial will be in Slovak Catholic Cemetery. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, Jolenta Convent, 1118 Court St., Suite 32, Syracuse, NY 13208.
