George W. Clinansmith was born on 24 May 1922 in Oxford, Oakland, Michigan.1,2 He and Roberta Marie (Birdie) Scott were married on 24 February 1951 in Rochester, Oakland, Michigan, Baptist Church.1 He was married on 4 July 1991.3 He died on 4 May 1994, at age 71, in Bronson, Branch, Michigan.1,2 He was buried in Bronson Cemetery, Bronson, Branch County, Michigan.1,4
George W. Clinansmith was a Farmer.5 George W. Clinansmith, 71, of Bronson died Wednesday, May 4, 1994, after being stricken at home.

He was born May 24, 1922, in Oxford to Leighton and Myra (Jenks) Clinansmith. He moved to Burr Oak as a young man and later to Bronson.

Mr. Clinansmith farmed in Burr Oak until 1977, then was employed by Campbell Soup Co. in Brighton, Ind., for 10 years until retiring in 1987.

He was a member and trustee of First Baptist Church of Bronson and a member of the St. Joseph County Grange. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and fixing things at home and at the church.

On Feb. 24, 1951, he married Roberta Scott in Rochester. She died in October 1989. On July 4, 1991, he married Virginia Leverett in Bronson. She survives.

Also surviving are a son, Daniel Clinansmith of Sturgis; a daughter Cindy Clinansmith of Mount Clemens; stepsons, Larry Otto of Austin, Texas, and Arlan Otto of Bay City, Texas; a stepdaughter Laurie Otto of Austin, Texas; three stepgrandchildren; a brother, Belmont Clinansmith of Hudson, Fla.; and a sister, Marjorie Harrington of Rochester.

A grandson, Scott Clinansmith, died in 1993.

Visitation: 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Kolcz Funeral Home, Bronson.

Burial: Bronson Cemetery.

Memorials: First Baptist Church of Bronson or the American Heart Association.
