Frederick W. Strauss, Sr., 91, of Forks Township, passed away Saturday, July 3, 2010 in Easton Hospital. Born: February 28, 1919, in Easton, he was a son of the late John W. and Frances M. McRoberts Strauss. Personal: His wife of 55 years, the former Nancy C. Ryman, died June 27, 1997. He retired in 1981 from the former Dixie Cup Company. Previously he worked for Ingersoll Rand. Frederick graduated from Easton High School in 1938 and served in the Navy during World War II. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a golfer. Memberships: He was a life member of Order of Fleas, Liberty Hose Co. and Wilson Borough Republican Club. Survivors: a son, Frederick W. Strauss, Jr. and his wife Ann, of Palmer Township; a daughter, Bonnie G. Bacon, of Lower Saucon Township; a sister, Betty Smith, of Nazareth; three grandchildren, Carla M. Brazinski, Kelly and Mark Strauss and two great-grandchildren, Skilar and Olivya Strauss. A brother, Samuel, died earlier. Services: Private services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of the Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough. Burial will be in Northampton Memorial Shrine. Memorials: may be made to the American Heart Association, 212 East Broad Street, Bethlehem, PA 18018.
