Mrs. McKowen was born December 28, 1935 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Henry and the late Henrietta (Hopper) Nichols. She lived in Lincoln Park and was formerly of Wayne. She was employed by Berlex Laboraties, Montville, as a Administrative Assistant for many years before retiring and previously employed by Mosler-American Standard of Wayne and First National Bank in Wayne. Mrs. McKowen was a member of Montville United Methodist Church, Montville.

She is survived by her husband: Robert McKowen, one daughter: Karen and her Husband Rich Dougherty of Pompton Lakes, one brother: Robert Nichols of Towaco. She was predeceased by her Daughter, Lynn Mc Guire.

Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ.

The funeral will be Friday at 10:30 am at Moore's Home For Funerals and will be Celebrated by Rev. Michael McKay. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.

In lieu of flowers Memorials may be made to: Hospice of the Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey, 38 Elm Street, Morristown, NJ 07960.

Robert C. Nichols was an Owner Towaco B&R Deli.3 WAYNE - Robert C. Nichols, 71, died Nov. 1, 2009.

Nichols was the well-known and much loved owner of the Towaco B&R Deli on Main Road for almost 35 years. He was a fixture at the deli and built a wonderful reputation in town. His customers were all friends and many will remember his parting salutation; "have a funny day!" There were many occasions when Bob would open the deli, at all hours of the night, just to make coffee for the Towaco Volunteer Fire Department after they had been fighting fires. To show their gratitude, they made him an honorary member of the fire department. During the 70s, Nichols was owner of the "Crossbow," a local watering hole on Passaic Valley Road. He served his community in many ways and is credited with starting the Montville Bronco’s Midget football league and at one time was an active Little League Baseball coach in town.

Nichols was born in Paterson and moved to Wayne in 1947. On July 3, 1955, at the Preakness Pool in Wayne, he met his wife Loretta (nee Finkle) who he wed in 1958.Together, they traveled to over 47 different countries, five continents, and 27 or so states here in America. They also enjoyed the Jersey Shore where they have a home in Monterey Beach.

Nichols is survived by his wife of 51 years Loretta (nee Finkle) of Towaco; children Robert Nichols and his wife Terri of Towaco, Laurie Barden and her husband Fred of Jefferson, and Kristie Kleczkowski and her husband Michael of Kinnelon; grandchildren Kaelen and Shannon Barden, Julia and Stephen Kleczkowski, and Kimberly Nichols; as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his sister Joyce McKowen in 2006.

A native of Paterson, N.J., Mr. Anderson moved here in 1985 from Waysne. He was a veteran of the US Navy during World War II; and member of Destroyers Escort Sailors Association.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Anderson, Summerfield; stepdaughters, Patricia Hennett, Allentown, Pa., Kathleen Pepriell, Gilbert, Pa., Sharon Smith and Lucille Woods, both of Ocala; stepsons, Bob Stenger, Englishtown, N.J., Paul Stenger, Wayne, Roy Stenger, Bethlehem, Pa., David Stenger, Spring Hill, William Stenger, Kunkletown, Pa., and Henry Oakley, Lake Hopotcong, N.J.; brother, Robert Anderson, Wayne; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Belleview Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
