Albert (Al) Edward Cook was a Welder- Norry Welding Company.4 Albert Edward "Al" Cook, 77, of 130 S. Front St., died Thursday morning, Jan. 20, 1994, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he was a patient since Monday.

Born May 24, 1916, in Danville, he was the son of the late Garfield and Mary (Gross) Cook. He married the former Rachel Reigle July 18, 1936.

Mr. Cook attended Danville schools.

He was employed as a welder at Norry Welding Company, Northumberland, for 20 years before retiring in 1978.

Mr. Cook was a member of the Klinesgrove United Methodist Church, Sunbury RD1; the Susquehanna Valley Automobile Club, Sunbury, and a life member of the Upper Augusta Fire Company, Sunbury RD1. He served in the Civilian Conservation Corps stationed in Kane and then Mehoopny, as a member of the surveying team in the early 1930s.

Mr. Cook loved the outdoors; enjoyed sport fishing and was an avid reader. He and his wife also spent many years making knived, which they sold to many people of the community.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Nola McCormick of Bloomsbueg RR3; three sons, Lee E. of Paxinos RD1, Richard A. of Sunbury RD1, David E. of Riverside; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Priscilla Cook, in 1937.

Funeral services will be private.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Upper Augusta Fire Department, or the Klinesgrove Methodist Church, both of Sunbury RD1, 17801.

Funeral arrangements were made by the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, Inc., 309 Water St., Northumberland.
