She was the wife of the late Edward Althouse and the late Albert Vavrik.
Born in Pipersville, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Minnie Gruver Shull.
Ethel had been a resident of Point Pleasant since 1941. She was a waitress and cook for the formerly Charlotte's Restaurant in Doylestown for 30 years.
Mrs. Vavrik was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Doylestown.
She is survived by two daughters, Carol Ketteringham of Warminster and Joan E. Carr of Quakertown; one son, John A. Vavrik of Media; two brothers, Wilbur Shull and Harold Shull, both of Trenton, N.J.; and three sisters, Mildred Snyder of Doylestown, and Betty Bannister and Beatrice Scott, both of Trenton, N.J. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Funeral Service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2000 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 301 N. Main St., Doylestown. Friends may call at the church after 10 a.m. . Interment will follow in Point Pleasant Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made in Ethel's name to the Caring Hospice, 100 W. Wisssahicken Ave., Suite 100, Ambler Pa., 19002.

3 Wilbur A. Shull- Born in Pipersville, Pa., he was a longtime resident. He graduated from Trenton Junior College as an artist and retired as president of Atlantic Mold Corp. after 30 years. Mr. Shull served in the U.S. Navy during World War ll. He flew from the air craft carrier, USS Bismark Sea, participated in three major battles, Leyte, Luzon and Iwo Jima, and survived the sinking of his ship off Iwo Jima, Feb. 1, 1945. He was awarded three battle ribbons, three air medals and one Distinguished Flying Cross.
Predeceased by his parents, Charles and Minnie Shull, and his wife of 50 years, Frances Heddon Shull, he is survived by three daughters, all of whom are teachers, Kathleen Bierman, Mary Troutman and Barbara Martz; his son-in-law, Raymond Martz; and six grandchildren, Elizabeth Bierman, Daniel and Sarah Troutman, and Lauren, Timothy and Robert Martz. Mr Shull comes from a family of five sisters, two brothers and 20 nieces and nephews.
He spent his retirement with his companion Lily Caster and his dog Charlie. He enjoyed traveling, golfing, playing tennis, hunting and sking.
The funeral service will be held 9 a.m. Thursday at Saul Colonial Home, 3795 Nottingham Way, Hamilton Square. Interment will folllow in Princeton Memorial Park, Robbinsville.
In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Disease Research Foundation of New Jersey, 454 Prospect Ave., West Orange, NJ, 07052.

SANDRA LYNN HOSTETLER (NEE MOOD) HAMMOND, IN Sandra "Sandy" Lynn Hostetler, age 64, passed away August 19, 2011 at home with family by her side. She was born May 4, 1947 to John D. (Margaret) Mood, whom is also passed.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 44 years, Barry Lee; children: Jill (Castner) Gorner (companion, Bill Foresberg) of Camp Hill, PA; son, Barry Lynn (companion, Judy Champ) of Hammond, IN; son, Daryl Lee (Gloria) of Duncannon, PA. Also survived by granddaughter, Amanda (Craig) Castner; great grandsons: Dominick and Marshall Castner of Camp Hill, PA; grandson, Damian Mukalian of Camp Hill, PA. Also survived by granddaughter, Shakima (John- son) Rosado; great grandchildren: Naasia and Jazmine of Steelton, PA, Michael of Duncannon,k PA and Jacqueline Mood of Souderton, PA; sister, Mercedes (Donald) Davies of Souderton, PA; neice and nephew: Jacquline and Donald, also of Souderton, PA; also brother, John (Patricia) Mood and children of Hawii. Also manymore aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and many, many great friends to mention. Sandy was a retired E.M.T and has been involved with many various Medical services throughout her life.
She passed away from cancer and she donated herself to Anatomy Service (I.U) Of Indianapolis, IN to continue to help others that have the same disease.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 21, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Orchard Dr. Baptist Church of Hammond. Donations can be made to Hospice of Indiana and/or American Red Cross.
