The casketbearers were: Emery Burkett, Z.M. Livix, Dan Winters, Harold Davis, Charles Tonkinson, and Tom McQuay.

Interment was in Pleasant Hill cemtery, Henry County.

Francis Edwin Saums, son of Conrad A. and Rebecca Trump Saums was born September 22, 1867 in Jackson township, Henry County, Iowa. He has been a lifelong resident of Jackson township where he was engaged in farming. He was never married. For many years he and his sister faithfully cared for their father and mother. During the past eight years he and his sister have lived with their nephew, Paul and his wife.

He is survived by his sister, Mary Etta, who is an invalid and one brother, Oscar, of Mt. Pleasant and his nephew, Paul Saums. He passed away last Thursday, November 10, at the age of 86 after an illness which had confined him in Memorial hospital.
