3 LEXINGTON: Longtime Lexington resident KATHRYN L. (KOEHL) CLEVER, passed away Thursday, March 15, 2012 in Mansfield Memorial Homes. She was 89.
Born February 16, 1923 in Sycamore to Jacob A. & Cleo (Staum) Koehl, she was graduated from Sycamore High School. She earned her degree in home economics from Heidelberg College, and taught at both Nevada High School and Lexington High School.
On July 10, 1948 she married George F. Clever, and together they operated Clever Insurance Agency in Lexington. She was a member of Lexington Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the board of directors for the Lexington Senior-Civic Center.
She is survived by her daughter Marcia Haver (Dale Thompson) of Mansfield; grandchildren Sarah Lang (Brian) of Alexandria, VA, Allison Haver (Miles Parsons) of Kenton and Anna Haver of Columbus; great grandchildren Henry Lang and William Lang; sisters- and brothers-in-law Dorothy & Bob Snyder of Colorado, Helen & Ted Swingle of Florida, June Clever of Kingston, Laurann Clever of Mansfield and Marie Koehl of Tiffin; her former daughter-in-law Cheryl Clever of Melbourne, Fla. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her husband George preceded her in death on January 8, 1983. Also deceased are her son Robert Clever (2006), her grandson Adam C. Clever (2005) and brothers George Koehl and Paul Koehl.
Her family will receive friends at a memorial visitation on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lexington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Kathryn's memory to Lexington Presbyterian Church or the Lexington Senior-Civic Center may be made at the funeral home.
