3,4 Robert G. Bryan, 85, of Trumbauersville died June 15, 2012 in Belle Haven Nursing Home, Quakertown. He was the husband of Sara Jane (Franklin) Bryan. They would have celebrated 65 years of marriage on June 22, 2012. Born in Abington he was the son of the late Warren F. and Rachel (Buehrle) Bryan. He was a Master Union Carpenter for over 40 years and before retirement he worked at W. M. Moyer Co., of Quakertown and was a member of the Local #1595 Carpenters Union in Philadelphia. He was an assistant little league coach and an assistant Midget football coach, and helped with the Boy Scouts. He was also a member of the Trumbauersville Fire Company. Robert enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He quit school and lied about his age so he could join the Navy at the age of 16 and was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving during WW II receiving the following medals American Area, European African Area, Asiatic Pacific Area with two stars, and the Victory World War II. He was a member of East Swamp Church, Quakertown.
Survivors: In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons Richard C. wife Roxann of Kempton, Robert of Charleston, SC, and Donald of Pennsburg; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Richard.
Services: Services will be held on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Noon in East Swamp Church, 2405 E. Swamp Rd., Quakertown. Call 11 a.m. to Noon in the church. The C. R. Strunk Funeral Home, Inc. (www.crstrunk.com), 821 W. Broad St., Quakertown is in charge of the arrangements.
