Cremation will take place at Baca's Mimbres Crematory and inurnment will be at a later date at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with veteran honors accorded.
Bob was born March 27, 1924 in Jackson, Michigan to Paul and Carrie Larson Kilburn. He entered the United States Army Air Corps on October 23, 1942 in Lansing, Michigan and was honorably discharged on October 31, 1945 at Ft. MacArthur, California. Bob, a B29er, was proud to have served his country. Upon his separation he went to Arizona where he worked in funeral service mostly at Adair Funeral Chapels in Tucson for many years. In 1970 he entered mortuary school and became a licensed funeral director. He was also an entrepreneur and over the years always had ideas in creating and developing products beneficial to funeral service and the public he served for many years. He eventually came to Deming, New Mexico where he continued his career at Baca's Funeral Chapels until his retirement. Bob was a member of the American Legion, D.A.V., V.F.W., Lions Club, the 58th BW Association and attended the First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion of 24 years, Shirley Ankrom of Deming; 1 daughter, 5 stepchildren, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and 1 sister, Ann Western (Tim) of Tucson, AZ. Bob was preceded in death by 1 daughter.
