U.S. Army.¹ Irwin Earl (Buck) Spiesz, Jr., was an American Distillery/ Video Services.¹ Irwin E. “Buck” Spiesz Jr., 72, of Pekin, passed away at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at Pekin Manor.
Born July 25, 1939, in Pekin to Irwin E. and Vera Cook Spiesz, he married Sharon E. Weakley on Nov. 23, 1963, in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Bradley (Beth) Spiesz; two daughters, Tina (Danny Blackstock) Spiesz and Melinda (Michael) Forbis; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin (Sally) Spiesz and Darrell (Darlene) Spiesz and one sister, Patricia (Kenny) Crawford.
His parents preceded him in death.
He was a United States Army veteran.
Buck worked at American Distillery in Pekin until its closing. He later worked for Video Services in Peoria until retiring.
Buck enjoyed playing cards, fishing, and watching his grandkids while participating in their sports activities.
He was a fan of the St. Louis Cardinals.
The family would like to thank Jennie, Alicia, Karen H., Ron and Beth at Harbor Light Hospice for their special care.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Ron Little will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded.
Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice or the Boys & Girls Club of Pekin.
