William Elliot Stepp was born on 21 January 1925 in Shamokin, Northumberland, Pennsylvania. He and Kathryn E. Heavener were married in 1947 in Philadelphia County, Pennsylvania.1 He died on 9 May 2017, at age 92, in Avondale, Chester, Pennsylvania. He was buried in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newton, Bucks, Pennsylvania.
US Army- 27 Feb 1943- 11 Jan 1946. William Elliot Stepp was a Cost Engineer. William E. Stepp of Avondale, PA William E. Stepp, 92, a World War II veteran and retired Sun Oil Co. Cost Engineer, died May 9th, 2017 peacefully in his sleep at his home in Chester County, PA.

Mr. Stepp previously lived in Ridley Park and Prospect Park, PA. Born, reared, and educated in Shamokin, PA, Northumberland County, Mr. Stepp graduated from Shamokin High School in 1943. He then volunteered and served in the Army Air Corp in World War II from 1943-1946. He served in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater with the 347th Fighter Group. Then he worked for Sun Oil Company for 37 years and retired as a Cost Engineer in 1983.

Bill coached Little League and Teener League baseball teams for many years and was also involved with American Legion baseball teams. A proud veteran, Mr. Stepp was a member of the John Wesley Cross American Legion Post 507 in Norwood, PA and was a life member of the LeVan, Smith, Raibley VFW Post 7213 in Norwood, PA.

Bill was the son of the late Charles and Louise Middlesworth Boyd Stepp, and the brother of the late Desna Boyd Cox and Francis “Joe” Stepp. Survivors are a son, Ronald W. Stepp (Margaret) of Horsham, PA, daughters Barbara L. Ross of Avondale, PA, Patricia L. Gabe (Bradley) of Fort Worth, TX, and Kristine A. Stepp of Troy, NY, six grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren with twins to be born soon.

Memorial Service and burial will be held at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery on June 9th, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
