Melinda Jane Farris was educated Radcliffe/ UCLA/ Graduate Theology Union.1 She was awarded a BA/ MA Art History/ PhD-Theology and Arts.1 Wortz, Melinda Farris PhD., wife and mother , art historian, critic, and teacher, died February 6, 2002, after a lenghty struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 61.

She was born April 30, 1940 in Ann Arbor, Michigan , to Dr. Jack Farris and Roberta Smith Farris. She was also deeply attached to her step-mother, Elizabeth Farris. She attended Polytechnic School in Pasadena nad graduated from Ethel Walker. She then attended Stanford University and received her bachelor's degree in art history from Radcliffe College. She received her M.A. in art history from UCLA and PhD, in Theology and the Arts from the Graduate Theology Unon at Berkley. She served on the board of the Pasadena Art Museum and on the vestry of Alll Saints Episcopal Church. She taught art history at UC Irvine, where she was Chair of Studio Art and Director of the UCI Art Gallery. She wa a prolific writer whose specialization was the work of California "Light and Space" artists. The collection of her papers is maintained by the Archives of American Art, Smithsonian Institution. Melinda lived a full and marvelous life. She had a loving and generous nature. The breath of the generousity extended from the art world, where she supported and promoted many young artists, to cooking and entertaining friends from all walks of life; from established artists such as Irwin, Lichtenstein, and Rauschenberg, to the Dalai Lama, and to the homeless. She is a delightful and spontaneous person, with a keen intellect, bright wit , and a deep kindness for others. She will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband, Edward Wortz; daughters, Lisa Terbell LaHorgue, Alison Terbell Nikitopolous, Jennifer Terbell Wisdom (her children with Thomas G. Terbell, Jr.), Katheryn Wortz, and Margaret Wortz; brother and sister-in-law, Nick and Mary Alexander; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Farris Anderson and Jack W. Anderson; aunt, Mary Donnelly Robb; ten grandchildren, one niece and two nephews. Memorial service will be Saturday, February 9, at 4:00 pm at All Saints Episcopal Church, 132 N. Euclid, Pasadena, the Rev. Margaret Cunningham, officiating. U.S. Army-WWII- 27 Jan 1943. Funeral services for Ralph Crouch, age 91, of Jacksonville, are scheduled for 2:00 pm Saturday, August 27, 2011 at Autry Funeral Home chapel, Jacksonville with Dr. Darin Wood and Rev. Steve Edwards officiating.

Burial will be held at Resthaven Memorial Park, Jacksonville.

Mr. Crouch passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011 in Jacksonville.

He was born January 26, 1920 in Normal, Illinois.

Mr. Crouch was married to Helen Harris Crouch, who passed away in 2009, for 67 years.

He moved to Jacksonville to work for A. C. Miller Co. as a timber buyer, started surplus sales that later became Discount City, which was open for 53 years, was an antique car collector, member of the Horseless Carriage Club of America, Rose City Sam's RV Club, past member of the 20-40 Club, Knife and Fork Club, Rotary Club, past president of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce, member and deacon of Central Baptist Church, Jacksonville, and served in the United States Air Corps during World War II.

He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Crouch, daughter Karen Lea Amos, parents George and Maybelle Crouch, and sisters Marion Garrett and Jean Flanagan.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Friday, August 26, 2011, at Autry Funeral Home, Jacksonville.

Memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church P. O. Box 1647 Jacksonville, TX 75766.
