3 Barry B. Burns, 80, of Palmerton, died Friday, Sept. 4, in his home. He was the husband of Barbara (Moyer) Burns. They were married Sept. 11, 1957.
He was a metal fabricator for the former New Jersey Zinc Company, Palmerton, for 34 years before retiring in 1998.
Born in Coaldale, he was a son of the late Clement and Helen (Turanchik) Burns. He served as a sexton at church, where he filled the candles every week. Burns served honorably in the U.S. Army.
He loved to draw cartoon characters for his family and friends and was an avid walker.
Surviving in addition to his widow are three daughters, Colleen A., wife of Basim Shunnara of Harrisburg, Melanie J., wife of Daniel Adamski of Saylorsburg, and Sharon E., wife of John Fronko of Lewisberry, PA; two sisters, Jane, wife of Francis Frey of Bethlehem, and Mary Ann Armbruster of Northampton; five grandchildren, Blair, Kaleigh, Jacob, Rachel and David; and four great-grandchildren, Jessica, Vera, Morgan and Ellie.
He was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Henry Armbruster.
Service: Funeral service 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, St. John's Episcopal Church, 365 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton. Interment, Dinkey Memorial Cemetery, Ashfield. Call 10-11 a.m. Saturday in the church.
