1 William Gilbert Causer, 65, of Mountan Home, died here Saturday (May 30). He was a machine repairman with the Ford Motor Company, retired in 1984 after 29 years. Formerly of Kankakee, Ill., he moved here in September, 1984.
A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, he served as a church usher. He was a committeeman for the Democratic Party in Kankakee. He was also a member of the United Auto Worker Union Local 558 at Chicago Heights.
Born April2, 1922 at Christopher, Ill., he was a son of Anna Barbara Glassford Causer and Plessie E. Causer. He was preceded in death by his parents and one granddaughter.
He and the former Vivian Maxine Jepson were married Sept. 23, 1942 at St. Charles, Mo. She resides at the home.
Other survivors include four sons, William K. Causer of Kankakee, Ill., Mike Causer of Marco Island, Fla., David Causer of Kankakee and Gerald Causer of Pontiac, Ill.; one daughter, Donna Marie Ohrt of Kankakee; one brother, Donald G. Causer of Bradley, Ill.; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hertz-Thoma Funeral Home in Kankakee. Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. Neil Bockelmann officiating. Interment will be in Kankakee Memorial Gardens.
