Richard Byron Lueckel Sr., Indianapolis, was born October 29, 1926 in Philadelphia, PA, and passed away on his 87th birthday.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Grace (nee Arnold); three devoted daughters, Louise E. L. Cain of Franklin, IN, Loretta E. L. Moore (M. Jay) of Cincinnati, OH, Lorraine E. L. Melone (Michael) of Dunedin, FL; one devoted son, Richard B. Lueckel Jr. (Nicci) of Zanesville, OH; six granddaughters; four grandsons; one great-granddaughter; three nieces and six nephews.
After attending Temple University, he worked for 20 years at the Samuel M. Langston Co. in Camden, NJ, having held several accounting positions. In 1972, he relocated to Marion, IN to accept a Comptrollers position with Delta Electric Corp. He was also Comptroller for Shumaker Bros. Industries in Indianapolis before joining Cannon Turf Supply in Indianapolis, subsequently Fishers, IN. He retired from there December 31, 1993, as Chief Financial Officer.
Richard served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of Oakland Masonic Lodge #140 F. & A.M., successor to Cumberland Masonic Lodge #726 F. & A.M., and the Scottish Rite-Valley of Indianapolis.
Mr. Lueckel was an Ordained Ruling Elder in the Presbyterian Church.
