Richard Merritt Glaspie was born on 13 July 1927 in Ferndale, Oakland, Michigan.1,2 He and Joan Adele Westlake were married on 8 September 1951 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.3 He died on 9 October 2017, at age 90.2
