Paul Revere Benson, Jr., was born on 11 July 1932 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.1,2 He died on 9 August 2011, at age 79, in Charleston County, South Carolina.2 He was buried in Magnolia Cemetery, Charleston, Charleston, South Carolina.2

Mr. Benson was born July 11, 1932 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of Paul Revere Benson and Lucile McIlvaine Benson.

He was a retired Political Science Professor with The Citadel and a member and Elder of First (Scots) Presbyterian Church.

Mr. Benson is survived by his wife of Charleston; two daughters: Sharon Staton and husband Chris of Columbia, SC and Shelley Bronaugh and husband Jim of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren: Savannah Staton, Cassandra Staton, Mallory Bronaugh Tate and husband Brad, Emily Bronaugh, and Meg Bronaugh.

The relatives and friends of Dr. and Mrs. Paul Revere Benson, Jr., are invited to attend the funeral services of the former, August 12, 2011 at 11:00 am at First (Scots) Presbyterian Church, with entombment in Magnolia Cemetery.
