Herbert John Buehler, Jr, was born on 23 August 1925 in Sayreville, Middlesex, New Jersey.1,2 He and Ethel Marie Sedlak were married on 2 June 1946 in South Amboy, Middlesex, New Jersey.3,4 He died on 27 June 2002, at age 76, in Joelton, Davidson, Tennessee.1 He was buried on 2 July 2002 in Old Tennent Churchyard, Tennent, Monmouth, New Jersey.1,3
Herbert John Buehler, Jr, was a Chemist Engelhardt Corporation.3 Herbert John Buehler, 77, of Joelton, Tenn., died on June 27 at his home.

He was born in Sayreville and lived in the Morgan section for many years before moving to Joelto, Tenn., in 1989. Prior to his retirement in 1990, he was employed as a chemist at Engelhardt, Corp. in Newark for over 28 years. He was a member of Mt. Sharon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Greenbrier, Tenn., where he served as a deacon and elder. He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy. Mr. Buehler was a member of St. Stephan's Lodge 63 of the Free and Accepted Masons, a Past Patron of Order of Eastern Star and the "Dad" of the Order of Demolay, alll in South Amboy. He was an assistant Scoutmaster for many years for Boy Scout Troop 91, South Amboy.

His parents, Herbert and Helen Buehler are deceased. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Ethel Marie Sedlak; three sons, Herbert John Buehler III of Pleasant Hill, Calif., James Robert Buehler of Lewisville, Tex., and Daniel Andrew Buehler of Brentwood, Tenn.; a sister Louise Sprague of South Amboy and nine grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday from Whitely Funeral Home, 241 Bordertown Ave., South Amboy, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral service at First Presbyterian Church of South Amboy. Interment will follow at Old Tennent Cemetery, Tennent. Friends may call the funeral home from 6-9 p.m. Monday.

Louise Sprague, 91,of Morgan died June 9 at Raritan Bay Medical Center, Old Bridge. Louise was a lifelong resident of South Amboy. She was a longtime communicant of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, South Amboy.

She is predeceased by her husband Russell and her brother, Herbert Buehler, Jr. She is survived by her nephews, Daniel Buehler and his wife Gloria, Herbert Buehler III and his wife, Barbara and James Buehler and his wife Shirley.

Visitation will be from 2 pm to 4 pm and 7 pm to 9 pm on Wednesday, June 12 at Whiteley Funeral Home, 241 Bordentown Ave., South Amboy. A service will begin at 11 am Thursday, June 13 at the funeral home. Internment will follow at Old Tennant Cemetery, Manalapan.

Ethel Marie Sedlak was an Assistant Principal Perth Amboy Vocational School. Ethel Marie (Sedlak) Buehler was born on May 31, 1925 in Iselin, New Jersey, the daughter of Andrew Albert Sedlak (1900-1997) and Marie (Hudak) Sedlak (1899-1979).

She graduated Woodbridge High School and was married on June 2, 1946 in South Amboy, New Jersey to Herbert John Buehler Jr (1925-2002), the son of Herbert John Buehler Sr (1884-1961) and M Helen (Pipher) Buehler (1900-1983).

The couple settled in Sayreville, where they raised their family and where Ethel worked for many years as Assistant to the Principal of Perth Amboy Vocational School until retiring and moving to Middle Tennessee in 1989.

During her full life, Ethel enjoyed ballroom dancing and was active with the Martin Center in Brentwood, Tennessee. She loved her circle of friends which included the Martin Center's "Card Crusaders."

Ethel was a resident of Brentwood when she passed away on August 6, 2015.

Preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, she was survived by three sons; her brother; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at Brentwood Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, and burial was in Old Tennent Cemetery in New Jersey.
