Rome was born May 27, 1928, in Raymond, Wash. He graduated from Lincoln High School in Portland and earned a business degree from Portland University. He married Barbara Fisher, who died in March 2003. They were married 43 years. He moved to Grants Pass in 1995 from Portland.

He was a 50-year member of the Masons and 45-year member of the Elks Lodge. He played varsity football in high school and enjoyed fishing, golfing, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include a son, Jeff Rome of Grants Pass; a brother, Ruben Rome of Olympia, Wash.; a sister, Anna Bershodsky of San Francisco; and a granddaughter.

Adolph Leo Meier was born on 29 March 1909 in Crofton, Knox, Nebraska. He and Helen Margaret Fisher were married on 30 April 1928 in Sioux City, Woodbury, Iowa. He died on 20 September 1979, at age 70, in Sacramento County, California. He was buried in St. Mary's Cemetery, Sacramento, California.

Jack suffered from a combination of serious illnesses as a child which caused brain damage. Several brain operations were undertaken at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, to alleviate the problems, without success. Jack has spent his life permanently disabled and resides in a nursing facility in Sacramento, California.
