Charles Doerres worked for the Rock Island Arsenal in camps during the war. Since 1957, he has operated a garage and filling station.

Robert Charles (Scooter) Doerres was born on 7 October 1933 in Lone Tree, Johnson, Iowa.1 He and Gaylie V. Dusenberry were married on 22 September 1959 in Iowa City, Iowa. He died on 4 April 2013, at age 79, in Muscatine, Muscatine, Iowa.1 He was buried in Illinois City Cemetery, Illinois City, Rock Island, Illinois, Cremated.1,2
Robert Charles (Scooter) Doerres was a Policeman.32 MUSCATINE, Iowa-Robert "Scooter" Doerres, 79, of Muscatine, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his home in Muscatine.

Cremation rites have been facilitated by the FCS Life Transition and Cremation Center located within Muscatine Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Scooter's name. The Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services is caring for Scooter's family and the arrangements.

Robert Charles Doerres was born on Oct. 7, 1933, in Lone Tree, Iowa, the son of Charles Wagon and Florence G. (McLish) Doerres. On Sept. 22, 1959, Scooter was united in marriage to Gaylie Dusenberry.

Scooter proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Muscatine Fire Department for several years before transferring to the Muscatine Police Department, retiring in 1977. After retirement, Scooter and his wife, Gaylie owned and operated Ina Mae's restaurant until 1998. Scooter was a member of the N.R.A., the Lone Tree American Legion Post 457 and a life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the Iowa State Trapshooting Association. He enjoyed commercial fishing, hunting, trapping, trapshooting and had a great passion for waterfowl and turkey hunting.

Scooter will be deeply missed by his wife, Gaylie of Muscatine; sons, Robert Doerres, Jr. and significant other, Lynn Hartley and Bryan Doerres and significant other, Sherri Peterson all of Muscatine; daughter-in-law, Denise Darting of Muscatine; sisters, Vida Wollrab and husband, Richard of Lone Tree and Beverly Petsel of Plainfield, Ind.

Scooter was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arnold "Butch" Doerres; and step-son, Rocky Darting.

Arnold Lee Doerres was born on 31 July 1939 in Johnson County, Iowa.1 He died on 18 October 1965, at age 26, in West Branch, Cedar, Iowa.1 He was buried in Lone Tree Cemetery (Memorial Section, Row 4), Lone Tree, Johnson, Iowa.1
Requiem High Mass will be held for Arnold Lee Doerres, 26, at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's church in Lone Tree.

Doerres was killed Monday afternoon in an accident in a bean field seven miles north of West Branch, when the tractor he was driving tipped over on him as he was attempting to pull a second tractor out of the mud.

Doerres was born in Johnson county, July 31, 1939, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Doerres of Lone Tree. He married Helen Diane Berg Jan. 4, 1964, at Riverside, who survives. He was a graduate of Lone Tree High School and had seved in the Army.

Survivors include his wife; one son Darrin, at home; his parents at Lone Tree; one brother, Robert, Mucatine; and two sisters, Mrs. Beverly Petsel, Plainfield, Ind., and Mrs. Vida Wollrab of Lone Tree.

Buriel will be in the Lone Tree cemetery with the Rev. Clifford Eggert officiating.

Gaylie V. Doerres, 74, of Muscatine, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2013 at Lutheran Homes. Memorial services are pending at Musserville United Methodist Church. Inurnment will be held in Illinois City Cemetery at a later date. Gaylie V. Dusenberry was born on January 12, 1939 in Aledo, Illinois, the daughter of John and Hazel (McCormick) Dusenberry. On September 22, 1959, Gaylie was united in marriage to Robert C. "Scooter" Doerres in Iowa City. Gaylie had worked at Ina Mae's for several years before she and her husband, Scooter bought the restaurant and continued its operation until 1998. Gaylie enjoyed trapshooting and had won many awards over the years. One of her proudest accomplishments was being the only woman to win the Otter Creek Sportsman Club's $1000 shoot-out. She was life member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and the Iowa State Trapshooting Association; and was also a longtime member of the Eagles Club and Moose Lodge.

Gaylie will be deeply missed by her sons, Robert Doerres, Jr. and significant other, Lynn Hartley and Bryan Doerres and significant other, Sherri Peterson all of Muscatine; daughter-in-law, Denise Darting of Muscatine; and sister, Twyla O'Brien of Muscatine.

Gaylie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert "Scooter" Doerres on April 4, 2013; son, Rocky Darting; sister, Barbara Jean Dusenberry and brother, Lee McCormick.

Gladys Kephart was born on 29 June 1911 in Hazleton, Buchanan, Iowa. She and Frank Ray McLeish were married on 24 May 1930 in Onawa, Monona, Iowa.1 She was married before 27 April 1940.2 She died on 26 October 1989, at age 78, in Waterloo, Black Hawk, Iowa. She was buried in Fontana Cemetery, Hazleton, Buchanan, Iowa.
Gladys W. Hahn, 78, died Thursday morning in Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, after a short illness. She was a nurse's aide at Granview Care Center, Oelwein, and had worked for Dr. John Gallagher for many years.

Survivors include three sons, Don McLeish of Salt Lake City, Roger Farmer of Lawrence , Kan., and Don Farmer of Sious Falls, S.D.; two daughters, Delores Bartz of Westgate and Maxine Wall of Cedar Rapids; two brothers Floyd Kephart of Monticello amd Ralph Kephart of Hazleton; a sister, Fern Palmer of Cedar Rapids; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday, Brant-Kerns-Jamison's, where friends may call after 2 p.m. Monday. Burial: Hazleton Cemetery, Hazleton. A memorial fund has been established.
