ARDATH M. ADAMS, 91 ROCKTON - Ardath M. Adams, 91, of Rockton died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008. Born Feb. 26, 1917, in Shirland, at the home of her parents, Harry and Ruth Moate. She graduated from Rockford Central High School. Married Everett J. Adams on Feb. 25, 1940, in the "Little Brown Church", Nashua, Iowa; he died Oct. 10, 1977. Ardath was a member of the Shirland United Methodist Church, Red Hat Society and was a Daughter of American Revolution. She also was active with the Burritt Grange, the Trask Bridge Picnic and farming in Owen Township for 62 years. She loved to play cards and she loved her Chicago Cubs. Survived by daughter, Kay Doetch of Daytona, Fla., by one day; Kay died Nov. 30, 2008. Other survivors include son-in-law, Bob Anderson; granddaughters, Robin (Patrick) Hayes, Leisha (John) Lindsay, Angie (Harold) Oster and Karen Doetch; grandsons, Bob (Kim) Anderson and Kevin (Maritza) Doetch; 11 great-grandchildren; sister, Merle (Dale) Fender; brother, George (Ruth) Moate; and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents; husband; sister, Dorothy Eudy; daughter, Mary Dru (Bob) Anderson; and son-in-law Harold Doetch. Special thanks to Ardath's nephew and godson, Sid (Wendy) Moate, who were always there to help her, the Highview Retirement Facility and Transition Hospice. Funeral ceremony at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, in McCorkle Funeral Home, 767 N. Kay Ruth Doetch, 66, of Daytona Beach, passed away on Sunday, November 30, 2008. A celebration of her Life will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Baggett-Summers Funeral Home, 736 S. Beach Street, Daytona Beach. She was born in Rockford, Illinois on May 4, 1942. Kay moved here in 1986 from Apple Valley, MN. She was a Human Resources Specialist at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial and she enjoyed quilting and sewing and especially her grandchildren. Kay will be deeply missed by her extended family at Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harold Doetch. Survivors include her son, Kevin (Maritza) Doetch of Saint Mary's, GA.; daughters, Angela (Harold) Oster of Medina, MN, Leisha (John) Lindsay of Savage, MN. and Karen Doetch of Farmington, MN; also her six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Everett.
Funeral ceremonies will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, March 22, 2004 in Old Stone Church of Christ, Rockton, IL with the Reverand Dan Herman, pastor of Old Stone United Church of Christ, Rockton, IL officiating. Arlen Dale Fender was a Rural Carrier in U.S. Post Office.2 Arlen D. "Dale" Fender, 86, of Winnebago, went to be with the Lord Thursday, Nov. 24, 2011, at home, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 2, 1925, in Edgewood, son of John and Mable (Bolin) Fender. Graduated from Woodstock High School. He served in the Navy, during World War II from 1944 to 1946, in the South Pacific. Dale married Merle Moate on Dec. 6, 1947, in Rockford. He retired from the U.S. Post Office as a rural letter carrier in 1980, after 35 years of service. After retiring, Dale worked for McFarland's Office Supply for eight years. He was an active member of First Presbyterian Church, having served as trustee, and volunteered at the Rockford Rescue Mission. Dale loved gardening, playing cards and attending potlucks with the Westfield Community group. He enjoyed many cups of coffee and conversations with friends at McDonald's. Besides his quick wit, he was also known for humming or whistling his favorite song.

Dale is lovingly survived by wife of 63 years, Merle Fender; children, Debbie (Sal Caiozzo) Cassioppi and Larry (Donna) Fender, all of Winnebago; six grandchildren, Allison (Tom) Hawkins, Paul Cassioppi, Kathy (Paul) Williams, Eric (Sarah) Fender, Tyler and Erin Kelly; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Caden and Cameron Hawkins, Kelsey, Kara and Korbin Williams, Brennan and Carsen Fender; sisters, Juanita (Paul) Ebert and Linda (Terry) Holley; several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by parents; daughter, Becky Kelly, on Nov. 19, 2008; and brother, Robert Fender.

Dale's family wishes to thank the Heartland Hospice staff, Renae, Kari, Diane and Lisa, for their care and support. Service is at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, at First Presbyterian Church, 208 W. Winnebago St., with the Rev. Steve P. Shullanberger officiating. Burial in Winnebago Cemetery. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday, Nov. 28, at Genandt Funeral Home, 602 N. Elida St.
