Duford, Geraldine (Gerry)- of Mt. Morris, age 73, died Wednesday, February 23, 2000, at home with her family. Funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday at the Miles Martin Funeral Home, Pastor Richard Cook officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Morris Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 6PM Thursday and all day Friday. Mt. Morris Chapter #474 will assemble at the funeral home for Eastern Star Memorial Services 7PM Friday. If desired, memorials may be directed in Gerry's memory toward Mooseheart Children's Home. Envelopes are available at the funeral home. Mrs. Duford was born in Oakland County on June 3, 1926, the daughter of Louis and Elsie (Sian) Coggins. She married Don H. Duford on June 27, 1942 and they were happily married for 57 years before his death on July 5, 1999. She devoted her life to caring for her husband and six children, and was Nana to their fourteen grandchildren. She loved kids and created Camp GraNana for the grandchildren and their friends. She was involved in the Moose Lodge in Florida, especially with activities for thechildren of Mooseheart. She was a seamstress, an avid gardener, gourmet cook, musician, songwriter, and loved to dress up as a clown to entertain children. She enjoyed cake decorating, quilting and planning dinners and parties. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Mt. Morris Chapter #474 Order of Eastern Star. She leaves to cherish her memory, 6 children: Norman and wife Peg Duford of Mt. Morris, Dennis and wife Susan Duford of Waterford, Merrilee and husband Al Doty of Auburn, Renee Duford of Grand Haven, Brenda and husband Mike Wood of Mt. Morris, and Gail and husband Mark Tanner of Davison; 14 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Lou Coggins, Carl Coggins, Clare Coggins, Clarence Coggins; and her sister, Phyllis Lorenze; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Don and 2 brothers, Francis and Roger Coggins. She believed in angels. Arrangements by Miles Martin Funeral Home, Mt. Morris Rd. between Dort and Saginaw.
