Curtis Ebert, age 65, of Rhinelander, died on February 21, 2007 in Rhinelander. He was born in Waupun, WI on July 14, 1941 to Emil and Norma (Krause) Ebert. His family moved to Rhinelander and Curt then attended schools here graduating from the Rhinelander High School in 1960. He served in the US Navy from 1963-1966 and upon his honorable discharge he returned to Rhinelander where he attended Nicolet College. He married Sandra Olander on November 16, 1968.
He went to work with his father in the family jewelry store, Ebert's Jewelers, and worked with his father from 1970 until 1980 when he became operator of the store. Curt was a member of the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church. He was an avid fisherman his entire life and he also enjoyed photography and metal detecting.
He is survived by his wife Sandra of Rhinelander, his daughter Dawn Ebert and son Mark Ebert both of Rhinelander, his two grandchildren Gavyn and Braydon, his sister Patricia (Edwin) Bauer of Rhinelander and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services for Curt will be held on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Reverend Norman Peterson officiating. Visitation will be from 4-8 PM on Sunday, February 25, 2007 at the Carlson Funeral Home and just prior to the services on Monday at the church. Interment will be in the Northland Memorial Park cemetery. A memorial is being established in Curt's name and can be directed to his family. The Carlson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for the Ebert family.
