4 Services for Jimmy Murrel "Pokie" McDermett, 55, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., formerly of Levelland, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Geo, C. Price Chapel with Steve Vernon, Pastor of First Baptist Church, Levelland, officiating.
Burial will follow in City of Levelland Cemetery under the direction of Geo. C. Price Funeral Directors of Levelland.
He died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002.
He was born Dec. 22, 1946, in Lubbock. He moved to Truth or Consequences in 1993 from Plattville, Colo. He attended Levelland schools and graduated from Levelland High School in 1965.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of Vietnam. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and attended the Church of Christ in Truth or Consequences. He was draftsman and an iron worker foreman.
Survivors include a son, Marcus of Truth or Consequences; his parents, James Hugh and Jean Jo of Truth or Consequences; and two sisters Suzie Parker of San Diego, Calif.; and Becky Dennis of Houston.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. to noon Monday.
