5 SAN ANGELO - Jimmie Joe Chandler, 76, of San Angelo passed away Saturday, April 14, 2007, in a local hospital.
Memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, at the Trinity Fellowship Church with Pastor Ron Miller officiating. Arrangements are by Robert Massie Funeral Home.
Joe was born June 18, 1930, in San Angelo to W.B. and Vivian Chandler.
He retired from Santa Fe Railroad after 28 years. He was a Master Mason of Lodge No. 991 in Ysleta, Texas, a lifetime member and co-founder of the Concho Bass Club, park manager and board member of Dove Creek Home Owner Association. Daddy loved to fish and hunt, and his greatest joy was being outdoors, sharing his knowledge with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Lorena McCleery and Margaret Ray.
Survivors are his wife, Mae Chandler of San Angelo; daughters Jena Mining and husband John of San Marcos, Texas, Barbie Roach and husband Dusty of Midland, Texas, Johnelle Turner and husband Mike of Canyon Lake, Texas, Betty Lopez and husband Teofilo of Fort Waynewright, Alaska, Joan French and Dawn Setting, both of San Angelo, Texas, Trina Cox and husband Allen of Fort Hood, Texas, and Rachael Gartman and husband Billy of Corpus Christi, Texas; one brother Ken Chandler of San Angelo; 18 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the San Angelo Nature Center, 7409 Knickerbocker Road, 76904.
