MARY DENNIS, 76, of Attica passed away Sunday, October 23, 2011 at Lapeer Regional Medical Center. Mary Jane Herrman was born on January 13, 1935 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, the daughter of William and Marion Herrman.
Mary Jane was a high school graduate of Lincoln High School Class of 1953 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. She moved to Chicago to attend Barat College. Mary Jane was trained and graduated from St. Louis Hospital as a radiology technician in 1957. Mary Jane married Adelbert (Al) Dennis on May 28, 1960, at St. Boniface Church in Manitowoc, Wisconsin. They resided in Berwyn, Illinois and were active members of the St. Francis of Rome parish where they made and retained may life-long friends. She and her family have been residents of Attica since 1978.
Mary Jane is survived by her daughter, Ann Marie (Dennis) Schmidt of Attica; son, Curtis (Karen) Dennis of Plymouth; grandchildren, Katherine Schmidt of Attica, Sara Schmidt of Greenwood, IN; great grandchild, Robert Franklin (Frankie) of Attica; brothers and sisters-in-law, Russell Dennis of Imlay City, Ula Dennis of Imlay City, Pearl Belle Trager of Sterling Heights, Sandy Haumer and Dick Smolk of Zephyrhills, FL, Art and Carol Dennis of Arlington, TX, Roger and Edie Dennis of Zephyrhills, FL, George Dennis of Columbiaville; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Adelbert Dennis; parents, William and Marion Herrman; and brothers and sister-in-law, Andrew and Mary Herrman, Douglas and Marion Allison, Cleo (Dennis) DeGraw, Jack Dennis Robert Trager, and William and Govie Herrman.
A memorial service took place Saturday, October 29, 2011 at the Muir Brothers Funeral Home, Imlay City. Father Paul Ward officiated. Burial of ashes followed the service.
