Sivyer, Mrs. Roberta- Age 52, died Monday, March 31, 1997 at Genesys Regional Medical Center Health Park. Funeral service 11AM Friday, April 4, 1997 from the North Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1657 Broadway, Pastor James O. Flowers, Sr. officiating. Interment Smith Hill Cemetery, Otisville, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church at 10:30 AM Friday. Mrs. Sivyer now lies in state in the Chapel of the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed after 11AM today, where the family will receive friends from 7-8PM this evening. Mrs. Robert Sivyer was born February 12, 1945 in Jackson, Mississippi, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. J. and Mary (Drumgold) Miller. She accepted Christ at an early age at the New Light Baptist Church, Wismer, LA. Mrs. Sivyer was a very giving and honest person who enjoyed spending time with her children, not only as a mother, but as a friend. She always told them, "I love you, and stay out of trouble,". She was often a friend to those in need, whether it was housing or feeding them; no matter what people thought of her acts, she knew she was doing God's work. Mrs. Sivyer really enjoyed fishing as her favorite hobby. She leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Mary and Franklin Douglas; 2 sons, Jonathan (Fiancee Kendra) and Mr. and Mrs. Alonzo and Kimberly Miller; all of Flint; 9 grandchildren; 3 sisters, Leola Henley of Hazelhurst. MS., Mr. and Mrs. Sallie and Hilton Fuller of Cleveland, OH., and Emma Allen; 3 brothers, Jessie Stevenson, both of Flint, Robert Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Roosevelt and Rosa Stevenson, both of Detroit, MI; 15 stepgrandchildren, Emmitt, Jr., Diane, C.D., Calvin, Alvin and Michelle Robinson, Gene Smith, Carnice Gardner, Kinth and Barry Robertson, Antoinette Tyler, Debra Beck, Tommy Lee, Robert Lee, and James Edward Willliams.; 66 stepgrandchildren; 41 great stepgrandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many dear friends including Barbara Horton, Ruth Lunkas, Mrs. Turner, Mable Malcom, Pastor James O. Flowers, Sr., and the North Star Missionary Baptist Church family. Mrs. Sivyer was preceded in death by her husband Charles Sivyer (Jan. 1992); grandson, Lawrence Gardner, 2 stepchildren. Onethea Tapplin and Thomas Mack Robinson.
