SALEM - Roy Trudgeon died Sunday.

He was born in Burlingame, Kan., and was a paratrooper in the 82nd and 101st Airborne Division during World War II in the European Theatre. Prior to his retirement, he worked for AL-CAN Highway as an engineer; he also worked for J.C. Penney, Sears and Ladd & Bush U.S. Bank. He enjoyed woodworking and making clocks.

He married Lorraine C. Strawn Nov. 24, 1937 in Aumsville. A daughter, Linda C. Luhroy, preceded him in death on July 4, 2000.

Survivors include his wife, Lorraine C. 'Dolly' Trudgeon; brother, C.E. Trudgeon of Salem; and sister, Pearl Moses of Salem.
