She was born May 20, 1929 in Kansas City, Kan., daughter of the late Thomas H. and Dorothy Detler Darling.
Dorothy was of the Catholic faith.
She is survived by two brothers: Robert (wife Charlotte) Darling of Shawnee Mission, Kan., and Al (wife Janice) Mullen of Nisland, S.D.; a niece, Deborah Walker of Glen Carbon; two great nieces: Shannon (husband Jason) Coolbaugh and Julia (husband Josh) Whitehead of Edwardsville; a great-great niece, Aubrey Whitehead; and a great-great nephew, Austin Coolbaugh. She is also survived by other nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister Ruth L. Nilges.
There is no visitation.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m., on Monday, July 27, at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon.
Memorials may be directed to Metro East Humane Society.
