Vernon Floyd Sebastian

Vern had resided in Lake Havasu City for the past 15 years with his wife, Donalee. He worked as a union ironworker in California Local 416, Alaska Local 751 and Washington Local 86. In California, during the 1960s, he helped to construct Disney's Grand Hotel and a new wing in Pomona Valley Hospital. He worked on the Trans-Alaska Pipleline System pump station 1 and 2 on the North Slope Prudhoe Bay during the 1970s. Also, constructing a bridge across the Kenai River and working in the Port of Anchorage constructing piers. In Washington during the 1980s, he worked at the Boeing plant in the construction of a new facility, construction on the Seattle Convention Center, the Space Needle Expansion, but most of all he was the worker to place the last beam on the Columbia Tower Bank Building in Seattle. At the time of completion, Columbia Towers was the largest building west of the Mississippi.

He had a love for dirt-bike riding and racing, where he took first place many times, winning trips and cash prizes. He also enjoyed skydiving, flying, hunting and fishing. His rough ornery exterior was never a match when it came to babies and animals. He loved listening and singing to country music and you could often find him trying to teach one or more of his daughters the correct "Vern" way of singing. He enjoyed attending concerts, country fairs and car shows.

Vern also liked improving his mind and would spend each evening watching Jeopardy!, swearing that one day he was going to be on that show and bring home the big prize. His idea of a quiet Saturday night consisted of staying up late to watch WWE. He will be greatly missed by all for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Vern is survived by his wife, the love of his life and best friend, Donalee Sebastian, of Lake Havasu City; daughters, Lynn (Jim) Sotelo, Laurie Wakefield, Julie (MIke) Matull, Christi (Michael) Edick, Cheryl Butts and Stephanie Burke; grandchildren, Andrea, Jason, Christopher, Jennifer (Andy), Sarah, Michael, John, William, Tommy (Kelly), Helen, Johnny (Maria), Douglas, Nichalus, Donalee, Becky and Dylan Vernon; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Alexia, Jadyn, Hayden, Audry, Daymein, Lona, Julitha, Ja-leigha, Andrew, Daisy and Taylor; brothers, Jim (Janet) Sebastian and Tom (Terry) Sebastian; sister, Carolyn Sebastian; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his stepson, Johnny Wise.
