Charles (Chuck) Ostrander was an Owner in Town and Country Barber Shop- Greenville, Michigan.33 GREENVILLE - Charles "Chuck" Ostrander, 75, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the home of his son Jeffrey in Lowell.

He was born Feb. 24, 1937, the son of Roy and Jessie Green Ostrander in Lakeview.

He married Julia A. Hauser on Sept. 21, 1957, in Greenville. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for 48 years and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who was revered by all who knew him as a man of faith and as an active member of the church, teaching Sunday School and as a witness to his faith. He was the owner of Town and Country Barber Shop in Greenville for almost 50 years. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School in 1955 and served in the U.S. Air Force. He also coached Little League for many years and was known as an avid sportsman, hunting and fishing.

Chuck is survived by his children, Jeffrey ( Joy) Ostrander of Lowell, Thomas (Pam) Ostrander of Williamston, Susan (Scott) Wyckoff of Greenville, Michael Ostrander of Smyrna, Ga.; grandchildren; Jamie Wyckoff, Joshua (Michelle) Wyckoff, Justina (David) Roberts, Samantha ( Joshua) Long, Sage Wyckoff, Emily (Ben) Vanderbilt, Annie, Grace, Peter, Zachary, Madison and Daniel Ostrander; great-granddaughter, Julianne Roberts; his brother, James Ostrander of Lakeview; sister, Virginia Jaquays of Coral; brothers-in-law, Robert Hauser of Kentwood, Jack Hauser of Detroit; sisters-in-law, Barbara Stanley of Iowa and Pauline (Milton) Schwab of Ohio.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie, on July 2, 2011; his sisters, Caroline Patten and Dixie Ostrander; and brother, Willard. Funeral services will be 11 a. m. Saturday, April 14, at Calvary Baptist Church, Greenville, with Pastor Dan Mead officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery, Entrican.

Visitation will be from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p. m. Friday at Hurst Funeral Home, Greenville.

Memorial contributions may be given to Calvary Baptist Church.

Kenneth Rasmussen, 84, of W. Carson City Road, Greenville, died Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2002, at Metron of Greenville. He was born in Pine Township on Sept. 5, 1917, the first of 11 children of Clark and Lela Ostrander Rasmussen. He was a graduate of Lakeview High School. In March of 1941, he entered the U.S. Army, serving in the Panama Canal, northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe, receiving the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with three bronze stars. He was discharged as a first sergeant in October 1945. Ken was a life member of American Legion Ray I. Booth Post 101 and was a past commander of the post. He also was a life member of Lester J. Sitts Post 5065 VFW, Sheridan. He was married to Doris A. Johnson in Lakeview on Oct. 23, 1946. Ken loved the outdoors with his gardening, deer hunting and especially fishing. he worked for Gibson Refrigerator Co. (WCI) for 37 years, retiring in 1982. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris of Greenville, his children, Robert and Gloria Johnston of Orleans, Bonnie and John McKinney of Greenville, Dale and Phylis Rasmussen of Lakeview, five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, his Rasmussen siblings, Floyd Rasmussen, Mabel Tate, Margaret and Frank Lund, all of Greenville, Russell and Margaret Rasmussen, Theo Rasmussen, Rita Mero, Anna and Louis Morse, all of lakeview, Clark and Margaret Rasmussen, Bernard and Kay Rasmussen, all of Stanton, Audrey and jerry Crane of Six Lakes, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Bertha and Richard Smith of Greenville, Joyce and Wayne Wright, Maxine and Norman Leonard, all of Lakeview, Pauline Hopkins of Morley, Clare and Ruth Johnston of Cedar Springs.
