Obituary

HOILES, Catherine - It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Catherine Hoiles on Tuesday, May 24, 2005 after living with colon cancer since 2001. Catherine was surrounded by loving family and friends as she departed this world, at the age of 36, with courage and dignity.

Catherine is the precious daughter of Marilyn Neale Hoiles. Catherine is forever in the hearts of her loving companion Kevin Barker; her devoted brother Gerry, sister-in-law Hollie and niece Kaitlyn, her cherished Grandmother Jean Neale and her dear caring friend Dr. Jacqueline Parai. Catherine will be deeply missed by her Aunt Kathryn, Uncle Doug Smallman and family. Catherine is lovingly remembered by the Barker, Neale and Oatman families.

Catherine was predeceased by her Grandparents Jack Lecky and Laurie Hoiles Lecky, her cherished Gramps Max Neale and her treasured friend Deborah Taylor Windelov.

Catherine will be fondly remembered by her circle of friends who over the years shared successes, disappointments, laughter and tears. At the time of her passing Catherine was on leave from EDS Ottawa where she had enjoyed a successful and challenging career. Catherine leaves many of us now to grieve her passing, but most of all, has left us with admiration and wonderment of her love for all she knew and her joy for life.

Catherine's family would like to thank Dr. Hartley Stern, Dr. Al Saied, Dr. Rasuli, Dr. Goel, the Nurses of the surgery wing at the General Hospital, the V.O.N. and the Palliative Care Outreach Program. Friends may pay their respects at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road, at Roosevelt, Ottawa on Friday, May 27th, 2005 from 6 to 9 p.m. A service will be held in Catherine's memory on Saturday, May 28th, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations in Catherine's memory may be made to Cancer Care Ontario, Victoria Order of Nurses or Palliative Care Outreach Program.
