Biography

Rosa May Lebherz was born on 1 October 1900 in Vernon Township, Isabella, Michigan.1,2 She and Theron William Dawson were married on 28 September 1921 in Clare, Clare, Michigan.3 She and John Willis Lamb, Jr., were married on 19 July 1933 in Clare, Clare, Michigan.4 She and Forest J. Jerred were married on 6 October 1951 in Clare, Clare, Michigan.4 She and George Alfred Abbott were married on 11 December 1958 in Clare County, Michigan.5 She died on 4 June 1962, at age 61, in Clare, Clare, Michigan.2 She was buried in Cherry Grove Cemetery (Block 5), Clare, Clare, Michigan.2
Mrs. George Abbott passed away June 4th in the Clare General Hospital, following a year's ill health. Services were held on Thursday afternoon, from the Stephenson Funeral Home at 2:00 o'clock with Rev. Harold Knickerbocker officiating and interment in Cherry Grove Cemetery.

Rose Lepherz, was born October 1, 1900 in Vernon township, Isabella county, and lived in this community all her life. She was employd many years in the laundry department at the Hotel Doherty.

She was a member of the Clara Rebekah Lodge No. 167, the American Legion Auxiliary of the Walter H. Larmon Post, and was currently serving as president of the Lucky Club and attended the Clare Baptist Church. A sunny smile and her willingness to serve the organizations in their many projects made her many friends who will miss her.

The widow of John Lamb, Jr. and Forrest Jerred, she was married to George Abbott December 11, 1958, who survives her. She also leaves a sister, Mrs. Lena Barton of Pontiac, a nephew and niece, cousins ans step children.

Special services and tributes were awarded Mrs. Abbott by the Rebekahs and many of the Legion Auxiliary members also attended the services to pay their last respects. Oddfelows served as pallbearers.

Obituary

October 20, 1950, John W. Lamb succumbs to ill heart Friday, laid to rest in Cherry Grove Cemetery. John W Lamb, son of John W. and Lulu Lamb was born in Grant Twp., Clare County, Michigan on Oct. 6, 1902. He passed away at home in Clare, Oct. 20, 1950 at the age of 48 years and 14 days.

He had not been in good health for a number of years although he continued with his work until his recent illness. He was married July 19,1932 to Rose Lebherz, and they made their home with his father and mother.

He leaves to mourn their loss the bereaved wife, Rose, an Aunt and Uncle, Mr. & Mrs. Eiber of Beloit, Wisconsin and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his mother in 1944, his father the same year, and a brother in 1945.

Thurston Funeral Home, relatives from Saginaw and Midland attended the services.

Forest J. Jerred1,2

Forest J. Jerred was born on 10 April 1902 in Clare County, Michigan.1 He and Rosa May Lebherz were married on 6 October 1951 in Clare, Clare, Michigan.2 He died on 30 January 1956, at age 53, in Clare County, Michigan.1 He was buried in Cherry Grove Cemetery (Block 5), Clare, Clare, Michigan.1
Forest Joseph Jerred, a life long resident of Clare passed away at his home on East Third Street, Monday evening, January 30th, following a five month illness.

"Frenchy" as he was known to everyone was born in Clare County, April 10, 1903, the son of Joseph and Mary Jerred.

During his lifetime, he worked at various jobs; with the railroad crew, at the cemetery, for the city, and his more recent work was the wrecking of buildings.

He was married to Mrs. Rose Lamb on October 6, 1951, and the couple was most happy together. He became ill in September, and spent three weeks at the University Hospital in Ann Arbor, coming home in October, where he was faithfully cared for by his wife, but gradually failed until he passed away.

He was a member of the Clare IOOF and Rebekah Lodges, and during his life time believed in the ten commandments and the Golden Rule.

Besides his bereaved wife, he is survived by four sisters, Miss Goldie Jerred, Mrs. Rose Smith, of Clare, Mrs. Violet Husted of Ludington, Mrs. Lydia Master, of Birmingham, two brothers, Walter and William of Clare, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday afternoon, February 2nd, at 1:30 p.m. from the Thurston Funeral Home, with the Rev. L.J. Nevins officiating, and interment in Cherry Grove Cemetery. The Oddfellows will have the commitment services at the cemetery.
