DURHAM - Mildred “Millie” Rollo, 90, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015 at her granddaughter’s residence in Durham, NC. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Rollo was the daughter of the late Earl Antoine Menuey and Mary Diane Shabram Menuey. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard David Rollo; and two brothers, Lance Menuey and True Salvis and wife Kay.
Mildred’s growing up years were divided between Nebraska and South Dakota. When World War II broke out and after completing high school, Mildred joined the Army Cadet Corp of Nursing in Pueblo, Colorado. In 1945 she met Richard David Rollo and they married October 26, 1945 upon his discharge from the Army. They moved to Alliance, NE, where they raised their two children, Diane and Richard. In October 1964 they moved to Scottsbluff where Richard worked for N.P.P.D. and Mildred worked part-time for the Jack & Jill Stores as a meat wrapper. Mildred retired in 1977. They joined the YMCA and the V.F.W. Mrs. Rollo became very active in the Senior Citizens Group at YMCA.
A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. on Thursday at Clements Funeral Chapel, Durham, by the family. Graveside services will be in Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis, SD at a later date.
