Mr. BILLIE B. "BILL" BROWN
Billie Ben “Bill” Brown, age 74, brother of Rex D. Brown, died at 7:10 am. on Friday at his family residence in the Hulah Lake community.
Graveside services for Mr. Brown were held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, KS. Reverend Walter Darnall officiated. Committal prayers and interment was directed by the Arnold Moore Funeral Service. Memorials have been established with Jane Phillips Hospice, 3500 SE Frank Phillips, Bartlesville, OK 74006 and with the American Cancer Society, c/oMs. Kathy Leeper, Box 1094, Bartlesvilie, OK 74005.
A native of Oklahoma, Billie Ben Brown was born in the rural Copan community on October 18, 1927. He was the son of the late Ben Harrison and Fawn Estella (Petrie) Brown. He attended the Pleasant Grove School northeast of Copan and completed his education in the Copan schools. He was active in oil field work as a pumper, driller and roustabout in the Oklahoma and Kansas area for the Layton Oil Company. He was enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1951. In later years, Mr. Brown worked on small engine repair. He lived in the Chautauqua, KS community until two years ago when he moved to the Whippoorwill Point community due to failing health. He has served the Chautauqua community as a Police Officer.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Methodist faith and the Dewey VFW Post #10009. An avid sportsman, he loved to hunt and fish.
Surviving are one brother, Rex D. Brown and his wife, Juanita, Bartlesville, OK, a stepdaughter whom he reared, Mrs. Jim (Paulette) Briley, rural Pawhuska, OK, a sister in law, Mrs. Louise Brown, Copan, OK, several nieces and nephews and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, wife, Betty Brown, and five brothers, Jack H. Brown, Joe V. Brown, Earl D. Brown, L. D. Brown and Bobbie L. Brown.

Mr. Rex Duane Brown, age 77, passed away on November 7, 2010 in Bartlesville.
Rex was born near Copan, Oklahoma on April 29, 1933 to Ben and Fawn Brown. He grew up in the Copan area, graduated from Copan High School, served in the Air Force and then was employed by CO-OP in 1952, his career employer, retiring in 1999 after 47 years. Rex married Juanita Johnson on March 21, 1953 and lived their entire married life in Bartlesville. Rex was very active in the Masonic Lodge, Shriner's and 4-H. His greatest enjoyments in life were fishing, hunting and working with the Shriner's children, and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Rex was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Jack, Earl, Joe, Buck, Bill and Bob.
Rex is survived by his wife, Juanita Brown and his three children, Lisa Maye of Bartlesville, Sherri Logsdon and husband Phil of Edmond, OK., and Debbie Alford and husband Gary of Grove, OK., five grandchildren, Darci Merritt and husband James of Owasso, OK., Michael Harp and wife Megan of Tyro, KS, Drew Logsdon of College Station, TX, Kyle Logsdon of College Station, TX and Chloe Maye of Bartlesville, and three great grandchildren, Ethan Lauryn and Collier.
Memorial funds have been established and those who wish may send their contributions to Hope Hospice, 8291 North Owasso Expressway, Owasso, OK, 74055 or the Akdar Shrine Temple Transportation Fund, 2808 S. Sheridan, Tulsa, OK., 74129.
Funeral services for Mr. Brown will be held at 2 P.M. Thursday at the East Cross United Methodist Church with Rev. Emery Mason officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery where full military rites will be accorded by the James H. Teel American Legion Post # 105 and Masonic rites will be accorded by the Bartlesville Masonic Lodge # 284 AF & AM. Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home. .
