Obituary
Charles William "Charlie" Provorse, 73, Jamestown, ND passed away December 30, 2012 at Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND after several months of poor health. Charles was born May 15, 1939 in New York, the son of Virginia Hunt. He spent his early years in New York. He moved to North Dakota in April 1978.

He pursued his dreams of being a newspaper man by attending college in Valley City. He spent time with the Dickinson Press, Mott Pioneer Press and eventually owned the Cannonball Chronicle in Mott. He moved his family to Jamestown when his health started to fail. He loved his family church, The Salvation Army, and doing the Christmas campaign for them. He also enjoyed singing and doing concerts for people, and doing National History Day with Katie.

We are grateful for the love and care of the doctors, friends and The Salvation Army for their ministry and the people that touched his life.

Charles is survived by his wife, Jayda Provorse, Jamestown; two sons, Joshua Provorse, Bremerton, WA and Jeremiah Provorse, Fargo, ND; one brother, Franklin Provorse, Texas; two sisters, Ann Acheson, Wyndotte, MI and Virginia Gipon, Texas; four sisters-in-law, June (Larry) Shriver, Billings, MT, Joellen Pahl, Morris, MN, Jewel (Wayne) Lundgren, Mendota Heights, MN and Joni Kapp, Mapleton, MN; brother-in-law, Jayson Dent, Fargo, ND and a special "Adopted Daughter", Katie Morehouse, Jamestown.

He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; one niece and a sister-in-law.

Memorial Service: 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 5, 2013 at the The Salvation Army, Jamestown, with Lieutenants Mitch and Teresa Brecto officiating.
