He died on 17 October 1996, at age 87, in Mount Carmel, Northumberland, Pennsylvania.1 He was buried in Saint Marys Ukranian Catholic Cemetery, Marion Heights, Northumberland, Pennsylvania.1

Kevin A. Dempsey, 33, of Girardville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, where he had been a patient since Sept. 27.

Born in Ashland Hospital, Sept. 30, 1977, he was a son of Thomas J. and Grace M. Sewa Dempsey.

He lived in Mount Carmel until 1985. He attended Holy Spirit School, Mount Carmel, Immaculate Heart Elementary School, Girardville, and was a 1995 graduate of Cardinal Brennan High School, Fountain Springs. He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Girardville, where he was a former altar server. He had been employed by Our Lad's Distributors, Ashland, and Quality Beverage, Hazleton.

He was a member of Jack Kehoe Div. No. 1, Ancient Order of Hibernians, Girardville and the Teamsters Union Local, Wilkes-Barre. He was an avid hiker and fisherman and enjoyed outdoor digital photography.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Brian and his wife, Alyssa, Girardville, and Thomas, Hazleton; three nephews, Brandon, Jackson and James; a niece, Allison.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church, Girardville. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of services in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Fountain Springs. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions b e made to St. Joseph Church, Girardville, or AOH Division No.1, Girardville. William F. McDonald Funeral Home, Girardville, has charge of arra ngements.
