Vern R. Wintermute, 89, of Hypoluxo, died peacefully on March 14, 2020 at home after a short illness. Vern was born in 1930 in North Plainfield , NJ, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vern M. Wintermute.

Vern enjoyed boating, fishing, the Bahamas, and the mountains of North Carolina. He moved to Florida in 1957 with the love of his life, Patty. He ran the family business Wintermute TV and Radio, which continued as Lafayette Radio and then Vern's Electronics.

Vern was preceded in death by Patty, and is survived by his sister Catherine Robb of Franklin, NC; son Vern (Doreen) of Stuart, daughter Sharon (Glenn) Palmer of Lake Worth; grandchildren Vern, Blake, Matt, PJ, Br ian, and Sarah; six great-grandchildren, and his best buddy, his dog, Vail.

There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent in his name to Furry Friends Adoption, Clinic & Ranch, 100 Capital St, Jupiter, FL 33458.

CLYDE H. WINTERMUTE

Clyde Huff Wintermute, 69, 2810 Parandor Place, Sarasota, died Tuesday at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Born in Newton, N. J., he moved here 13 years ago from Ithaca, N. Y.

He was principal park superintendent for the Finger Lakes State Parks Commission Robert H. Treman State Park in Ithaca for 30 years before retiring. After moving to Sarasota, he was a letter carrier for the Sarasota post office and completed 10 years of service. He was a member of the North United Methodist Church; was a trustee and chairman of the church finance committee and, and taught Sunday School and was a lay speaker in the church. He also was a member of the King Hiram Masonic Lodge 784 in Newfield, N. Y.; the Scottish Rite, Valley of Ithaca. In Ithaca, N . Y., and served with the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict.

He leaves his wife, Doris W. Wintermute; two sons, John A. Wintermute of West Chester, Pa., and Neil B. Wintermute of Ithaca, N.Y.; two brothers, Vern M. Wintermute of Lake Worth, and Lloyd A. Wintermute of Summerfield; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted by Sarasota Masonic Lodge 147 Wednesday 7 p.m. art Temple Brothers Colonial Chapel, 40 N. Orange Ave. Masons are requested to meet at the Temple at 6:45 p.m. Visitation will be Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral service will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the North United Methodist Church with the Rev. DeWitt T. Farabes Jr., officiating. Burial will be in Palms Memorial Park . Expressions of sympathy maybe made by memorial contributions to the Sanctuary Building Fund of the North United Methodist Church.
