Ellin E. Cosgrove

SANDYSTON - Ellin E. Cosgrove, 75, died Saturday, Nov. 17, 2007, at Newton Memorial Hospital.

Born in Middletown, N.Y., Mrs. Cosgrove was a lifelong resident of Sandyston. She was a 1949 graduate of Newton High School and the Mountainside School of Nursing, graduating as a registered nurse. Mrs. Cosgrove was the school nurse at the Sandyston-Walpack Consolidated School for many years, then worked for the Sussex-Wantage school system before her retirement in 1997. An athletic outdoorsperson, Mrs. Cosgrove loved baking and gardening. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

The daughter of the late Lawrence and Phoebe Ellett, Mrs. Cosgrove was also predeceased by her husband, Robert O. Cosgrove. She is survived by two daughters, Kim Cosgrove of Layton and Lisa Cosgrove of Millis, Mass.; and four grandchildren, Ryan, Erin, Brendan and Abby.

A graveside memorial service will be held at a later date under the direction of the Wood Funeral Home, 16 Main St., Branchville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Bevans Cemetery Restoration/Maintenance Fund, c/o Joanne Williamson, P.O. Box 7, Layton, N.J. 07851.
