Helen Fay Wagoner died Nov. 14, 2009, at Lake Havasu, Ariz., after a hip fracture. She was 90 years old.
She was born in Seattle, Wash., June 28, 1919, to Gale Herman Johnson and Clara Fayretta Davies.
Mrs. Wagoner was a resident of Johua Tree for over 40 years; she settled there with the Homestead Act and built her home.
Retired, she was a receptionist for Union Oil Co.
She was also a fabric specialist at Sprouse-Reitz/Coronet and a teacher with the Alhambra school system, where she worked with parents and childlren with ADHD syndrome.
Mrs. Wagoner was an Eastern Star Past Matron as well as a pianist and organist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. Wagoner, Sr., and her son Roy W. Wagoner, Jr.
She is survived by daughter Shirley Mickey of Joshua Tree; son Gale W. Wagoner of Lake Huvasu City, Ariz.; granddaughters Lisa Jones of Sun City, Randi Lehman of Quantico, Va., and Linda Nielson of Mentone; grandson John Mickey of Parker, Ariz.; and eight great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Wagoner's family requests memorial donations by made to Hospice of Yucca Valley.
