EDITH M. ORT, AGE: 80 LONG VALLEY
Edith M. Ort, 80, died January 20, 2010 in her residence in Long Valley, NJ. Edith lived in Long Valley, NJ for 63 years and was born in Chester, NJ on July 8, 1929. Wife of Harvey J. Ort, Sr. Daughter of the late John and Blanche (Martenis) Barkman.
She owned, lived and worked on Ort Farms for 63 years. She also was a bus driver for the Washington Township School System for 18 years. She was a member of the Long Valley Presbyterian Church; a lifetime member of the Long Valley Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
Survived by Husband, Harvey J. Ort, Sr. at home; 5 Sons- Robert Barkman, Flanders, NJ; Jake (Gean) Ort; Harvey Ort, Jr.; John (Patty) Ort; William (Beth) Ort, all of Long Valley, NJ; 6 Daughters- Sandra Ort (John) Glass, Shoreham, NY; Gladys Stickel, Chambersburg, PA; Janie (Perk) Hoskin, Holiday, FL; Susan Ort, Rosemary (Robert) Drake, and Wendy Ort of Long Valley, NJ; 2 Sisters- Grace Staats, Readington Township, NJ; Clara Mae (Amos) Alpaugh, Chester, NJ; 1 Sister in law- Sarah Beam, Califon, NJ; 21 Grandchildren; 22 Great Grandchildren; numerous nieces & nephews.
Predeceased by a brother- John Barkman.

OBITUARY OF CLARA ALPAUGH
Clara Mae Alpaugh, age 87, of Chester, NJ passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 after a long illness. Mrs. Alpaugh was born April 11, 1927 in Chester.
A lifelong resident of Chester, she was an active member in the community and truly loved the town. She belonged to the Chester American Legion Post #342 Women’s Auxiliary, Chester Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary, and Community Presbyterian Church in Chester. She enjoyed bowling, bird watching, flowers, camping, and was an avid Mets and Miami Dolphins fan. Most of all she was a beautiful lady who loved her family and friends.
She is survived by her 5 children, Carol Happe and her husband Terry, Willard Alpaugh, Nancy Duccini and her husband Ken, Daniel Alpaugh and his wife Sharon, and Allen Alpaugh; 11 Grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sister Grace Staats, and brother Robert Barkman.
She was predeceased by her husband Amos Alpaugh in 2011, sister Edith Ort, and by her brother John Barkman.
A Celebration of Clara’s Life will include a visitation on Wednesday April 1, 2015 from 4 PM-8 PM at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (corner of Route 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090.
A funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 11AM. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Clara’s memory to the Chester American Legion post #342, PO Box 342, Chester, NJ 07930, or to the Community Presbyterian Church, 220 Main St. PO Box 148, Chester, NJ 07930.

Amos S. Alpaugh, 85, of Chester, NJ passed away on Saturday, December 3rd 2011. Amos was born on March 3rd, 1926 in Middle Valley, N.J. He was a lifelong resident of Chester. Amos was employed by Jersey Central Power and Light retiring in 1986 after 35 years of service. Amos was a World War II veteran serving in the U.S. Army. He participated in the Central Germany Campaign and was a recipient of a Purple Heart Combat Medal as well as European African Middle Eastern Campaign Ribbon with one Bronze Star as well as a Combat Infantryman Badge. Amos was a proud member of the Bernay's Apgar American Legion Post 342 in Chester as well as a past Chief of the Chester Volunteer Fire Company where he served for over 50 years. He was also a member of the VFW.
Amos is survived by his wife of 65 years, Clara. He was also survived by his daughter, Carol Happe and her husband Terry, his son Willard Alpaugh, his daughter Nancy Duccini and her husband Ken, his son Daniel Alpaugh and his wife Sharon and his son Allen Alpaugh. He was also survived by his 11 grandchildren; Darin, Tracy, Tammy, Michelle, Michael, Dawn, Jason, Tanya, Sara Rene, D.J. and Connor Ian. He was also survived by 9 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Tuesday, December 6, 2011 at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. A Funeral Service will be held at 11am on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Chester.
