Eleanor Faith Wintermute was born on 18 October 1923 in Newark, Licking, Ohio.1,2 She and William David Ryan were married on 19 February 1945 in Licking County, Ohio.2 She died on 6 January 2016, at age 92, in Newark, Licking, Ohio.2 She was buried in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Newark, Licking, Ohio.2

Eleanor Faith (Wintermute) Ryan

A funeral service celebrating the life of Eleanor F. Ryan, age 92, of Newark, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Eleanor passed away on Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Selma Markowit z Care Center (operated by Hospice of Central Ohio). She was born October 18, 1923 in Newark, Ohio to the late Darrell and Della (Rector) Wintermute.

Eleanor was a 1941 graduate of Newark High School. She loved to tend her flower garden, crochet, needlepoint, family history and read all kinds of books.

She is survived by her son, Timothy D. (Beth M.) Ryan; two daughters, Beth A. (Randy) Vogelmeier and Molly E. (Jim) Slatt; three grandchildren , Amy L. (Peter) Reilly, Michael Ryan and Christopher Ryan; two great-granddaughters, Shannon Reilly and Megan M. Reilly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William David Ryan (2003); two sisters, Marilyn "Becky" Steinman and infant sister, Phyllis E. Wintermute.

Friends may call from 9-10:30 a.m. on Monday, January 11, at The Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark. Memorial contributions may be made to the Foundation for Hospice of Central Ohio, Post Office Box 430, Newark, Ohio 4 3058.
