4 Services for Donald W. Ellis, 84, of Ada, are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Criswell Funeral Home Chapel, Donald Hoggatt and Bobby Johns will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosedale Cemetery. The Chickasaw Honor Guard will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Mr. Ellis died Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at a Yukon nursing home. He was born August 31, 1929 in Ada, Oklahoma to Francis H. and Minnie V. Stillwagon Ellis. He attended Homer grade school and graduated from Byng High School. He attended Harvard University for two years and graduated from East Central University in Ada. He married Ina Faye Ebrite on July 11, 1981 in Ada. She preceded him in death on February 7, 2007 in Ada. Mr. Ellis was employed at Valley View Regional Hospital for 26 years in various positions, retiring as head of security. Mr. Ellis was a minister of the Roff Church of Christ for several years. He was affiliated with the Church of Christ, a past member of the Ada Lion's Club, a past member of the Optimist Club and he had served as a Reserve Deputy Sherriff. Mr. Ellis served in the U. S. Navy during the Korean War, the Vietnam War and the Six day Israeli-Egyptian War of 1967. Survivors include a son, David Ellis and wife Pam; daughter, Suzanne Ellis; step-son, Michael Sprague; step-daughter, Debbie Berlin; a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; four sisters, Rosemary Little, Reha Belle Rutz, Juanita Hoggatt and Othella Mardis; and two brothers, Harry Ellis and Smokey Ellis. Bearers will be Bobby Johns, Gene Cannon, Brent Lowe, Matthew Lowe, David Hendricks, and Glendel Hatton. Honorary bearers will be John Wayne Hoggatt, Dale Hoggatt, Daron Hoggatt, Justin Harrison, Dakota Harrison, Blake Harrison, Glen Diacon, M. D., and Michael Scherlag, M. D.
