October 22, 1915
"Mrs. Mary Loraine Beach passed peacefully away at her home on Del Monte street early Tuesday morning October 19, 1915 after an illness of several years.
Mrs. Beach was born at Homer, Minnesota and was the daughter of John R. & Carrie King. She was married at Marshall, Minnesota to Milton R. Beach. They came to Morgan Hill to make their home in 1902. Their only daughter, Helen Beach, passed away after a lingering illness on the 26h of February, 1913, and Mrs. Beach, whose health was even then very precarious, never recovered from the loss and shock.
Mrs. Beach was a loving, faithful wife, a devoted mother and a woman of sweet Christian character. At the early age of 17 years, she united with the church and until ill health prohibited was one of its most active, faithful workers. During her residence here she has been a member of the United Presbyterian church. Her husband, M. R. Beach, has been her constant companion and devoted helpmeet [sic] in all the hours of sickness and sorrow they have passed through, and has the heartfelt sympathy of the community in his loss.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Beach is survived by her father, three brothers, Charles, Chauncy, and Louis King, and three sisters, Mrs. Nettie Russel, Mrs. Kate Simmons, and Mrs. Myrtle Neymier, all of whom live in Washington except Mrs. Russel who now lives in San Jose. The funeral services were held at the United Presbyterian church Thursday afternoon, Rev. H. H. Buckner officiating. Many beautiful floral tributes covered the grave at Mount Hope cemetery.
