Doris Alma Clark was born on 19 November 1916 in Minnesota.2,3 She and David E. Owen were married on 20 November 1937 in Brookings, South Dakota.1,4 She died on 14 August 2010, at age 93.3 She was buried in Dawson Cemetery (1st Addition, Lot 27, Grave N1), Lac qui Parle County, Minnesota.3
Doris Alma Clark was a Book Keeper in Northwestern State Bank.4 She was educated in Miss Woods Normal Teachers Training. Doris Owen passed away in Mesa, Arizona on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Emerald Groves Assisted Living Home at the age of 93. Memorial service was at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 28, at the First Presbyterian Church in Dawson with Pastor Herbert Rotunda officiating. Visitation was for one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial preferred to: Hospice of the Valley 1510 E. Owen was born on November 19, 1916, on a farm in Eden Prairie, MN, to Elmer and Bertha (Gamble) Clark. She attended elementary and high school in Eden Prairie and went to Miss Woods Normal Teachers training becoming a kindergarten teacher. On November 20, 1937, she was united in marriage with David Owen in Brookings, SD. Two daughters were born to this union. Doris and her family lived in Minneapolis, and in 1944, moved to Dawson where she worked for 25 years at the Northwestern State Bank as a bookkeeper. After retirement, she and David moved to Mesa, AZ, in 1982. Formal activities included long-time membership in the First Presbyterian Church as Sunday School teacher, Presbyterian Women's work, Mission volunteer to Sitka, Alaska, Study Club, and Order of the Eastern Star Loyalty Chapter, serving as Worthy Matron. Doris died on Saturday, August 14, 2010, at the Emerald Groves Assisted Living Home in Mesa, AZ, at the age of 93 years, 9 months and 14 days. Survivors include her two daughters: Caryl (Jim) Bates of Fountain Hills, AZ, and Nancy (Elton) Falness of Dawson; 5 granddaughters: Jeanne (Michael) Gronholm of Maple Grove, Caren (Todd) Wilkinson of Knoxville, TN, Patricia (Don) Rheinhart of Bettendorf, IA, Kathleen (Dennis) Negen of Lakeville, MN and Susan (Kirk) Lindquist of Minnetonka, MN; 12 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren: Brian Gronholm, Megan (Derek) Thorstenson, Heather Tetzolff, Shelby Wilkinson, Andrea (Steve) Warnke, Erik Rheinhart, Emily Rheinhart, Brianne (Chris) Jones and children, Addison and Gavin, Shannon (Bren) Iramina, Mackenzie Lindquist, Kayla Lindquist and Taylor Lindquist; one brother, Howard (Helen) Clark of Huron, SD; two sisters: Audrey (Ron) Holasek of Smith Mountain Lake, VA and Arlowen Kuchera of Athens, GA; nieces, nephews, other family and friends. Preceding her in death were her husband, David on September 9, 2008; brothers: Walter, Gordon and Burton; and great-grandchild, Jamie Wilkinson. Doris loved God and her family and friends. Blessed be her memory for all who knew and loved her.
