LOGAN - Ralph Owen Baker, age 86, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.
LOGAN - Ralph Owen Baker, age 86, of Logan, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 in the Pickering House in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born June 5, 1924 in Logan, Ohio, he was the son of the late Hubert Owen and Clara Dell (Hankison) Baker.
Ralph was a WWII Veteran U.S. Marine Corps Veteran having served in the Pacific Theatre of War; he attended the Trinity United Methodist Church, member of Mingo Lodge #171 F&AM and was a mail carrier for the Logan Post Office having thirty-three years of service.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle Marie (Boyle) Baker; one son Danny O. (Carolyn) Baker of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; daughter Cynthia G. Kunkler of Logan, Ohio; four grandsons, Adam, Josh and Nick Kunkler all of Logan, Ohio and Christopher Baker of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Besides his parents he is preceded in death by one infant sister, Evelyn Eileen Baker; a sister, Katherine June McKnight and an infant grandson, Kyle Kunkler.
Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 20, 2010 at the Roberts Funeral Home in Logan, Ohio, with the Rev. Brian E. Arnold officiating.
Burial will follow in the New Fairview Memorial Gardens Good-Hope Township, Hocking County, Ohio where a military graveside service will be conducted by the Hocking County Honor Guard.
Friends may call Friday from 12 noon to the time of service.
