2 Frederick Burr Mancour, age 68, died Saturday, May 23, 2009, at his home in Page. Fred was born in Flint, Mich., on Nov. 24, 1940, the son of Kenneth and Elizabeth Burr Mancour of Linden, Mich.
He was a graduate of Linden High School and Arizona State University. Fred was an alumnus of ASU and supported the sports programs, especially the Sun Devils football team.
Fred was employed as an accountant for 38 years in Page at the Glen Canyon Steak House and Kens Old West for Ken Leach. He was a partner, true friend and advisor to Ken. He was a leader and a friend to all the employees that had the privilege to get to know him. He will be missed by all.
He loved the Page area and spent a lot of time over the years camping, boating, fishing and enjoying the beauty of Lake Powell. He had a passion for gardening, jogging and tennis. He always enjoyed slipping away to the casinos in Laughlin, Nev., and he was an avid Diamondbacks fan.
Fred is survived by two sisters: Beverly Wheatley Eiden of Linden and Elizabeth M. Williams of Swartz Creek, Mich.; two aunts, and several nieces and nephews.
His request to be cremated will be granted and a memorial will be held from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. on June 14, 2009, at the Glen Canyon Steak House.
