Rittenhouse was a Farmer.2 The funeral service for James H Rittenhouse widely known retired farmer of Franklin township who died Tuesday morning at his home at Smock following an illness of a year will be held Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the late residence. Rev. William F. McKee of Buena Vista a retired minister and Rev. Walter McCulloch pastor of Flatwoods Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will be made in Bowman Flatwoods Cemetery in charge of the undertaking firm of B. M. Wade & Daughter of Perryopolis. Friends are asked to omit flowers.
Mr. Rittenhouse who was 78 years old a staunch Prohibitionist was a member of the Flatwoods Baptist Church for 60 years and was active for the past 40 years in grange events having been enrolled with Franklin Grange and later transferring to Curfew at Flatwoods. For 35 years he served as director of the Mutual Fire Insurance Company of Southwestern Pennsylvania.
Mr. Rittenhouse who had been married for 56 years had resided in his late home for the past 51 years. He retired some time ago after having spent most of his life in farming.
In addition to his wife Mrs. Dorcas Rittenhouse he leaves the following children: Dr. H. H. Rittenhouse, Bridgeville and H. A. Rittenhouse, Mrs. Guy Fleming and Mrs. Frank Lee all of Smock. There are 11 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Mr. and Mrs. Guy S. Fleming of Smock clebrated their 58th wedding
anniversray Friday, Oct. 18
In commemoration of the event they were hosts to members of the family at a
turkey dinner held Sunday at the Village Inn, Adamsburg
Mrs. Fleming is the former Caroline Rittenhouse, daughter of the late James
H. and Dorcas Hazen Rittenhouse.
The celbrants are the parents of two sons, three grandsons and three
great-granddaughters.
The Flemings were born in Franklin Twp.

Dr. H. H. Rittenhouse Dies at Bridgeville
Funeral services for Dr. Harry H. Rittenhouse, Bridgeville physician, was held at his home, 600 Bank street, Bridgeville this afternoon. Burial was made in Melrose Cemetery, Bridgeville. Dr. Rittenhouse who died Tuesday in Magee Hospital, was 64. The son of Dorcas and the late James H. Rittenhouse, he was born in Fayette county. He was graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Medical School in 1911, and had practiced in Bridgeville over 18 years. A member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church of Bridgeville, Dr. Rittenhouse also belonged to the Centennial Lodge No. 544, F. & A. M., of Carnegie; the American Medical Association, Allegheny County Medical Society, and I. O. O. F. Lodge No. 396 of Bridgeville.
Surviving are his widow, Louise Duff Rittenhouse; four sons, Dr. Goerge H, Dr. Frank H., William H. and Arthur H. Rittenhouse, all of Bridgeville; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Lee and Mrs. Guy Fleming, both of Smock, Pa., and two grandchildren.
